I am not against apologies, it’s just that I rarely regret the people I've slapped (verbally or physically). Even if I am sorry, I might not say it because I don’t like how I’ve been asked (TOLD) to apologize. But I’m not too dumb to know apologies are a part of life and sometimes you have to make people feel better about the true stuff you said.
Teenagers do feel the emotions like regret but sometimes we don’t want to say the words we’ve been forced to say since we were two. “SAY SORRY".”
It’s your own fault that we hate those words. From being forced to apologize to the loser toddler at the park to having to say it to our siblings even though they have needed every single smack on the head we gave them- a lot of us can no longer apologize on command.
Here are five ways teenagers say sorry even though we don’t like or want to.
Hanging around. Sometimes the sorry gets stuck inside of us and the best we can do is stay close to you and hope you feel it. Can you feel the sorry in the air? Can you decant it from the atmosphere like rain from clouds? Can you sense it? No? Maybe try harder. We can’t do everything around here.
